Noch bis 31. August wird eine Umfrage für eine internationale KI-Studie mit der City, University of London und der European Federation of Radiographer Societies (EFRS) durchgeführt.

HIntergrund

KI wird zunehmend in der medizinischen Bildgebung und Strahlentherapie eingesetzt und hat das Potenzial, die Qualität, Sicherheit und Effizienz im Tätigkeitsumfeld der MTR zu verbessern. Die Aufgaben der MTR liegen traditionell in der Patientenbetreuung, der medizinischen Bildgebung und Tätigkeiten in der Strahlentherapie.

Die KI kann sich in vielerlei Hinsicht auf MTR auswirken, unter anderem auf ihre berufliche Rolle, ihre kollektive berufliche Identität und ihre Karriereaussichten und -optionen.

Das Ziel dieser Arbeit ist es die Auswirkungen der KI-Implementierung auf die Rolle, die Karriere und die berufliche Identität von MTR, MTR-Auszubildende/r und Student/innen in Europa zu erforschen.

In dieser Umfrage werden die Erfahrungen und Perspektiven von MTR in ganz Europa im Hinblick auf die Zukunft ihres Berufs unter Berücksichtigung der KI-Entwicklungen in unserem Berufsfeld gesammelt. Die Daten werden genutzt, um Empfehlungen auszusprechen, die zur Verbesserung der Patientenversorgung, der akademischen und klinischen Ausbildung von MTR beitragen könnten, aber auch, um die Diskrepanz zwischen den KI-Vorgaben in der Ausbildung und der klinischen Praxis zu beheben und eine nachhaltige Zukunft der Radiographie in Europa zu unterstützen.

Dieses Projekt ist eine Zusammenarbeit zwischen der City, University of London (School of Health and Psychological Sciences und der Bayes Business School), der Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam und dem University College Cork. Sie wird auch von der Society and College of Radiographers (SCoR) und der European Federation of Radiographer Societies (EFRS) unterstützt. Diese Forschung wurde durch das College of Radiographers Industry Partnership Scheme (CoRIPS) finanziert.

Rationale of the study

Artificial intelligence (AI) is being increasingly applied in medical imaging and radiotherapy and has the potential to improve quality, safety and efficiency of care and clinical service provision in these areas of clinical practice. Radiographer responsibilities traditionally balance between patient care and imaging or radiation therapy technology.

AI has the potential to impact radiographers in many ways, including their professional roles, collective professional identity and career prospects and options.

The aim of this work is to explore the impact of AI implementation on both the student and qualified radiographers’ roles, careers and professional identity in Europe.

This survey will gather experiences and perspectives of radiographers across Europe, with regards to the future of their profession considering AI developments in our professional space. The data will be used to offer recommendations that could help enhance patient care, academic and clinical training of radiographers, but also to address the mismatch between educational AI provisions and clinical practice and to support a sustainable future for radiography in Europe.

This project is a collaboration between City, University of London (School of Health and Psychological Sciences and the Bayes Business School), Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, and University College Cork. It also has the endorsement of the Society and College of Radiographers (SCoR) and the European Federation of Radiographer Societies (EFRS). This research has been funded by the College of Radiographers Industry Partnership Scheme (CoRIPS).
